Urinary tract infections, often shortened to UTIs, are infections that occur in any part of the urinary system. This system includes the kidneys, bladder, ureters, and urethra. Most UTIs are caused by bacteria and they often result in pain during urination and frequent urge to urinate. While they are more common in women, men can also get UTIs.
