Explanation

The Sternothyroid muscle is a part of the human body, located in the neck. It's one of four muscles that help move the thyroid cartilage - a structure in the throat that plays a key role in speech. This muscle is responsible for lowering the thyroid cartilage, which helps in swallowing and speaking. It's called "sternothyroid" because one end of the muscle is attached to the sternum (the breastbone) and the other end to the thyroid cartilage.
