Explanation

Residual area of stenosis refers to the remaining narrowed area in a blood vessel after a medical procedure has been performed to widen it. Stenosis is a term used to describe the narrowing of a blood vessel, which can restrict blood flow. When a procedure like angioplasty is done to open up the vessel, sometimes the entire narrowing cannot be eliminated. The part that remains narrowed after the procedure is what is referred to as the "residual area of stenosis".
