What does "Phalanx" mean in a report or doctor's letter? In our medical dictionary, you will find a patient-friendly explanation of the meaning of this medical term.

Explanation

In medicine, the term "phalanx" refers to the bones found in our fingers and toes. Each finger and toe, except for the thumb and big toe, has three phalanxes: the one closest to the palm or foot, the middle one, and the one at the end. The thumb and big toe only have two. These bones help us to bend and straighten our fingers and toes.
