Explanation

Fibromuscular dysplasia is a medical condition where some of your body's arteries, which are the blood vessels that carry blood from your heart to the rest of your body, have abnormal cell development. This can cause the arteries to become narrow, bulge, or even tear, which can reduce blood flow to different parts of the body. The condition can affect any artery but most commonly affects the arteries leading to the kidneys and brain. It's more common in women than in men.
