Explanation

Auricles, in the context of medicine, refer to the upper chambers of the heart. There are two auricles, one on each side of the heart, and they are small, ear-shaped pouches. They play a role in the heart's function by receiving blood that comes into the heart and then sending it to the lower chambers, or ventricles. The term "auricle" can also refer to the outer part of the ear, but in a medical context, it usually refers to the heart.
